LIVE FROM VEGA$: The Unbearable Lightness Of Being In Charge Of Cleaning Out The Ashtrays At The MGM Grand


Just time for a quick post before we head back home...One of the more subtley disturbing things we've noticed while spending time in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is the clinically depressing attention to branding detail that enters into nearly every facet of existence here. Case in point: the ashtray stands placed in front of every elevator in the building (an example of which appears above) are cleaned out daily and, in a fit of marketing hubris, the grains of dust are then stamped with the MGM lion logo.

That's why they call it fabulous Las Vegas.
