(sort of) TODAY AT MERLE'S: Donna Summer
I know what at least three of the five of you who read this blog were probably thinking yesterday: "Where's today's installment of TODAY AT MERLE'S?" Truth be told, there was some construction going on near the Francisco stop yesterday morning, and the noise obscured Merle's morning music extravaganza so I had nothing to report on. Submitted for your approval, however, is a classic Merle's moment from last weekend.
TODAY AT MERLE'S: "On The Radio" by Donna Summer
Without the ennui of a commute to work to hang over my head, Donna Summer's dancefloor classic momentarily seemed almost a breath of fresh air -- it was Donna Summer, and it wasn't "Last Dance"! But any euphoria I may have experienced was quickly shattered by the uppity woman who couldn't get her CTA card to scan properly at the turnstile; her self-righteously indignant exhale was so vehement she nearly performed a double farmer blow right there in front of me. Add that to the guy clipping his fingernails once I got on the train, and you've got a recipe for a great start to the weekend.
Listen to a clip from "On The Radio" in Realplayer. If you think that love isn't found on the radio, well tune right in. You may find the love you lost.

Yes! I kept checking back to see what yesterday's installment was. C'mon, John... you can't create a daily theme and then skip a day! :)
